This week is dedicated to the study of Diabetes; types, causes, prevention and management. The information is important for us not to be ignorant of this deadly health condition. Diabetes does not have a cure but with proper management you can live healthy lives than those without it.  According to WHO, in 2014, 9% of adults 18 years and older had diabetes. In 2012 diabetes was the direct cause of 1.5 million deaths. More than 80% of diabetes deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries.

Consequences of Over Weight

The latest WHO projections indicated that at least one in three of the world's adult population is overweight and almost one in 10 is obese. Additionally there are over 40 million children under age five who are overweight.
 
Being overweight or obese can have a serious impact on health. Carrying extra fat leads to serious health consequences such as cardiovascular disease (mainly heart disease and stroke), type 2 diabetes, musculoskeletal disorders like osteoarthritis, and some cancers (endometrial, breast and colon). These conditions cause premature death and substantial disability.
